Scripture Reading: Psalm 20, Psalm 21, Proverbs 11, John 12
John 12:23-26 “...The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it in eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.”
Highlights of my Reading:
Have you ever passed by a dark road, then suddenly you see these shining tiny reflectors installed either on the sides of the road or at the middle. And no matter how small they are, it was enough to guide you on the direction of the road. Cool isn’t it? Now what happens if your headlights are busted? Oh no! Total darkness! You see, the only time the reflectors work is if there are light to reflect, otherwise, it will not be visible and do it’s purpose on guiding us on the road.
Imagine yourself with this car. Your headlights were suddenly busted while you were driving along this dark road. You were supposed to attend an important gathering. But you stopped because you can’t see anything on the road. Then suddenly you remembered calling your friend, the mechanic. He arrived, took his own brand new headlights and replaced your busted lights so you can go home and attend this important gathering. You felt bad of leaving your friend there, but he insisted to stay.
This is similar to what Jesus did on the cross. He took away our “busted headlights” – our weaknesses and replaced it with all His positivity so that we can see the truth — ” those tiny reflectors” — that will guide us to the life He had prepared for us.
Take time to talk to your mechanic — Jesus, surrender your busted headlights so you start to see the reflectors on the road —- the TRUTH.
